A competition bikini should fit snug against your body with no gaps, bunching, or sliding when you move or pose, but it shouldn't dig in or leave marks either. Fit is about precision, not just size. Two suits in the exact same size can fit completely differently depending on connectors, fabric, and how the suit is built for your body.

Why Fit Matters More Than Size

Judges and the audience are looking at your physique, not your suit. A suit that fits poorly pulls focus, a wrinkle, a gap, or a strap that's cutting in becomes the thing people notice instead of your conditioning. A well-fitted suit disappears and lets your work show.

Where Fit Problems Usually Show Up

• Connectors. Loose or poorly placed connectors are the most common fit issue, they should hold the suit in place through every pose without shifting.
• Coverage. Coverage should stay consistent with your division's rules and should not need constant adjustment on stage.
• Fabric stretch. Fabric that's too stretchy loses its shape under lights and movement, fabric that's too rigid can restrict your posing.
• Rise and cut. The bottom rise and top cut should match your body's proportions, not just a generic size chart.
