How Bodybuilding Saved My Life
Posted on August 31 2016
I know some people will think this is “too personal” for social media. But I don’t really care, if I just help one person out there from sharing my story, that’s all that matters. The stage for me, meant so much more to me than getting lean. So much went on behind the scenes of this prep, its kinda unreal. During this prep, my parents split up, I moved from my apartment to my first house, I quit my full-time job, I had numerous injuries, and experienced terrible anxiety. My entire life, my family and I have experienced mental, physical, and emotional abuse from a certain person. With my parents going through a divorce this past year, the abuse was amplified. These past few months have been particularly difficult. This person tries to do anything to destroy me and my family. Bodybuilding, this prep and the stage, literally SAVED my life. Every time this person tried to bring me down, abuse me, I would use it as fuel in the gym. Every hurtful thing they said, made me push harder during my workouts. I used lifting weights to lift me up. Every time this person tried to destroy me, I came back stronger, I came back better. I do not want to share my story for pity or anything like that. Just know, if someone or something is bringing you down, destroying you, FIGHT back in a positive way. Better yourself. Use whatever challenges you are facing as fuel to do something incredible. You are stronger than you think you are. The stage for me was symbol of every challenging thing I have overcome in my life. This prep showed me I can literally do anything, no matter what life throws at me, if I put my mind to it. Find your passion, do something that makes you feel good, and never quit. Fight back when life gets difficult, it will get better, I promise.
